Hello, I’m Rory from ifixappliance.ca and in this article I’m going to explain you how to replace the belt on this Bosch washing machine. You’ll be able to tell if there is a problem with your belt, if when you power up your machine and it goes through a wash cycle, the drum doesn’t spin properly or doesn’t spin at all. Additionally if the belt has completely snapped, when you manually rotate the drum like this there will be no resistance whatsoever and the drum will just spin freely.
The belt is situated behind the drum at the back of the machine so to get access to it I’m going to have to remove the back panel. I’m also going to remove the top panel so there is a bit more light in the machine. You’ll need a torx head screwdriver for this.
If you don’t already have one you can get a set on the ifixappliance.ca website. Before I get going tho always remember safety first.
Always make sure that you washing machine is switched off at the wall before you get going. Now we can see the belt which wraps around the drum pulley up here and the motor spindle down here. Getting the old one off is really easy just pull the belt towards you and spin the pulley.
There you go.
Now, there’s a knack to getting the new one on. First make sure that it is threaded on the motor spindle correctly and then feed it round the near side of the pulley and then you just need to turn it like that, and then it should just sit neatly on the pulley. Now I’ll just give it a couple of turns so that it is nice and straight, and that’s your new drive belt fitted.
And that’s how easy it is to replace the belt on a washing machine.
Belts for all makes an model of washing machine are available on the ifixappliance.ca website. Thanks for reading.
